What is ipsy?
If you don’t already know about ipsy, it’s a monthly subscription service. You will receive some full size, deluxe size and sample size products, plus a makeup bag, each month. This is a great way to try new things and grow your collection without having to splurge on full-sized products. Ipsy sends out different bags to different people each month, so the items in my bag could be a little different than the items you receive.
How much does ipsy cost?
The subscription is just $10/month with free shipping. You’ll receive 5 samples (and sometimes full size) makeup and beauty products. Plus, it all comes in a small, reusable makeup bag each month.

Was January 2017’s ipsy bag worth it?
You decide! Here’s what I received this month. I’ll let you know what I think of this month’s bag below.
First, the items came in a silver/blue/gray colored fabric bag with a silver zipper.
Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination
I’m not a huge fan of the IT Cosmetics concealers because I think they tend to be a little sticky when they mesh with my foundations. They get great reviews, though, so I’ll give this new one a try. Supposedly this one is absolutely amazing for dark, under eye circles. I have seriously dark circles, so I’ll let you know what I think.

Pur-lisse Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask & Exfoliant
This mask is supposed to detoxify and tighten your skin with gentle exfoliation. I have tried this brand of products a few times and I really like their moisturizers.

Temptu BASE Smooth & Matte Primer
Temptu is known for their airbrush makeup kits, but they also have makeup for non-airbrush users. I love a matte primer, so if this can give me a poreless finish, I’ll be hooked. Have you tried it?

Bahama Mama Bronzer Sample
Any time I receive a product from The Balm Cosmetics, I get excited. Their packaging is super cute and creative. I have a hard time with bronzers, though. The color of my skin is ghostly white and I don’t tan all that well, so when it comes to bronzers, I really have to have a true brown color. Many contour and bronzing powders tend to have a muddy look on my skin. The swatches below show that this one may also appear a little muddy-colored, but remember – swatches on your arm aren’t exactly the same as what it looks like on cheeks.

Manna Kadar Beauty Paradise Blush
You may be wondering why this product is still in its packaging in the picture. Well, that’s because it took me a solid 4 minutes to break through the plastic packaging. Then, after that, it took another solid 4 minutes to open the blush itself. If this is how this company packages their products, I don’t think I’ll buy one. I had to use tweezers to pry open the blush lid and it was way too much of a struggle. Pretty color, though – check out the swatch below.

What I think of the January 2017 ipsy Bag
I’ve definitely had better ipsy bags. This one wasn’t terrible, but it sure wasn’t my favorite. The products are higher end, but it’s nothing too exciting or too different than usual products I’ve seen before.
